Combative Caciques Venezuela earn close away win against Argentina Condors

A feisty South American World Series of Boxing (WSB) derby was won by Caciques Venezuela who prevailed 3-2 away to Argentina Condors.

This was Venezuela’s third consecutive victory, while Argentina should be proud at the effort and skill they displayed in the match.

The action began at Flyweight (52 kg) when Argentina’s Cristian Alan Choque Chambi won his second bout of the season with a unanimous points success over Venezuela’s Eduard Johan Bermúdez Salas.

Venezuela evened up the scoring when Caciques debutant Luis Cabrera outpointed Argentine Lightweight (60 kg) Brian Ivan Nunez.

3-2 Alberto Ignacio Palmetta helped the Condors retake the lead at Welterweight (69 kg) with a points win against AIBA World Championships bronze medalist Gabriel Maestre Perez.

Palmetta’s performance moved him up to fifth in the Welterweight rankings replacing his Venezuelan opponent who drops to seventh.

4-1 Venezuelan Light heavyweight (81 kg) Albert Ramon Ramirez Duran lived up to his top five ranking by stopping Josue Oliva in round two of their match.

The Condors victory was confirmed in the last fight of the night when Super heavyweight (91+ kg) Edgar Ramon Munoz Mata comfortably defeated Carlos Pedro Blanche.

Argentina Condors host Astana Arlans Kazakhstan next week, while Caciques Venezuela are at home to Italia Thunder.
