Russian Boxing Team bid to remain perfect at home against Morocco Atlas Lions

The Russian Boxing Team have enjoyed superb recent form in the World Series of Boxing, and have won their past three home fixtures 5-0.

This week they host Morocco Atlas Lions, fresh off an excellent derby win over rivals Algeria Desert Hawks, and who have already beaten Ukraine Otamans away from home this season.

Platonov Sports Palace, St. Petersburg, is the venue for this Group A clash, where on Friday 27th February fans across the world can watch the action free, live and on demand from 20:00 (GMT +3) at

1-0 Russian Light flyweight (49 kg) Vasilii Egorov opens the action against Morocco’s 1-2 Zouhair El Bekkali who has lost both of his away matches this season.

The Bantamweights (56 kg) are up next, where home star Vladimir Nikitin seeks his second successive win against Moroccan debutant Said Malek.

Vitaliy Dunaytsev is an incredibly strong boxer, and the Light welterweight (64 kg) defends his 1-0 record against Atlas Lion Hamza El Barbari who has lost all three of his matches this season.

1-0 Russian Middleweight (75 kg) Petr Khamukov stopped Daniel Woledge in round one of their fight, and will look for a similarly early night against 0-2 Said Harnouf who has narrowly lost both of his two WSB fights.

A mouthwatering Heavyweight (91 kg) clash closes the action in Russia, as undefeated Lithuanian Vitalijus Subacius representing Morocco faces Russia’s 1-0 heavy hitter Evgeny Tishchenko.
