Incheon gets ready for the APB/WSB R&J Workshop


The APB/WSB R&J Workshop will kick-off in just two days, on 30 October, to last until 4 November. This significant event gathers the world’s best Referees & Judges and Supervisors in the city of Incheon, in South Korea, with the flights kindly donated by AIBA sponsor Korean Air.

The final list of participants includes 61 R&Js and 20 Supervisors from 44 countries. All have been carefully selected and known for being the top in business.

During this intensive five-day induction, all R&Js will take part in theoretical and practical courses in order to be fully in tune with the differences between AIBA Olympic Boxing (AOB) and AIBA Professional Boxing (APB) / World Series of Boxing (WSB).


Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 October

Two-day seminar that details APB/WSB Competition and Technical Rules with an in-depth analysis of the APB program to be launched in late 2013.


Thursday 1 November

Written examinations for both R&Js and Supervisors.


Friday 2 November

– APB/WSB Supervisor and R&J Practical Training in a Local Boxing Center;

– APB/WSB Supervisor and R&J Scoring Training Session: practice of the actual scoring in live situations.


Saturday 3 November

– Judges Video Examination;

– Referees Practical Examination at the Local Boxing Gym;

– Graduation.


After having received the APB/WSB R&J certification, these Referees and Judges will only officiate in AOB Elite Competitions as well as APB and WSB events.
