Kremlin Bears WSB Team launch name and logo

The city of Moscow in Russia today became the third of the twelve WSB franchisees to launch its team name and logo. The KREMLIN BEARS will be competing in the WSB European conference against teams from Istanbul, Milan and Paris.

The KREMLIN BEARS External Relations & Development Director Anna Fedorova commented on the corporate identity: "In searching for a suitable identity for our franchise we wanted to avoid stereotypical images of boxing. In doing so, we are aiming to expand our target audience and draw the attention of those who loves sports, but who have not necessarily seen a boxing match. We want to see more women, youths, businessmen and politicians at our events. By analogy to other franchisees of the WSB we have used the name of an animal, a symbol of Russia, for our team. The bear is a huge, furious, yet clever animal. Furthermore, it is one of the few predatory animals that rise on their hind legs in to attack. We think that this logo is easy to remember and is ideally suited to team merchandise. The brand book is ready now and we plan to start a line of interesting high-quality souvenir products for fans of boxing and our team".
