Crafty Caciques Venezuela strike early to defeat Rafako Hussars Poland in Maiquetía

World Series of Boxing (WSB) Group B strugglers Caciques Venezuela and Rafako Hussars Poland provided an entertaining night of boxing in Maiquetía which was won 3-2 by the Venezuelan Franchise.

It was the same old story for Poland as they struggled in the early bouts before their two undefeated ranked fighters looked impressive, while Venezuela will be delighted at the rapid start they enjoyed which ultimately led to victory.

The South American team picked up the first win of the evening at Light flyweight (49 kg) when 3-1 Yoel Finol continued his excellent form by dominating every round against Poland’s 1-3 Dawid Sebastian Jagodzinski.

Caciques 2-2 Bantamweight (56 kg) José Vicente Azocar then enjoyed an even more decisive win over 0-2 Marek Pietruczuk.

Light welterweight (64 kg) Luis Arcón secured the overall win for the Caciques, and his first success of the season as he stopped Damian Tadeusz Kiwior just over two minutes into their fight.

Poland’s Tomasz Jablonski is the number one ranked Middleweight (75 kg) in WSB, and clinched his fourth successive win as he survived an early scare against Venezuelan debutant Juan Carlos Rodriguez Patiño to succeed on points.

Hussars Heavyweight (91 kg) Igor Pawel Jakubowski is also highly ranked in his weight category, and he extended his Season V record to 4-0 by defeating Uganda’s Willy Kyakonye in the last fight of the night.

Caciques Venezuela host Astana Arlans Kazakhstan next week, while Rafako Hussars Poland welcome Puerto Rico Hurricanes.
