Algeria Desert Hawks finally claim their first win of the season against China Dragons

After five barren fixtures, Algeria Desert Hawks have finally won their first World Series of Boxing Season V match with a 3-2 home victory over China Dragons.

This result could be the catalyst regarding a better second half of the season for the African Franchise, while the Chinese team have now lost six of their seven matches this season.

The Dragons enjoyed the opening win however when ranked Light flyweight (49 kg) He Junjun enjoyed his third win of the campaign with a strong points win over Zoheir Toudjine.

Algeria evened up the scoring at Bantamweight (56 kg) when Khalil Litim defeated Dragon debutant Jiawei Lu on points.

Mohamed Boudiaf then earned his second win of the season by winning the majority of the rounds against Chinese 1-2 Light welterweight (64 kg) Sairike Tuoliaowutayi.

2-0 Middleweight (75 kg) Ilyas Abbadi maintained his undefeated record, and secured the Desert Hawks victory with a comprehensive win over China’s 1-2 Zhou Di.

China pulled back another win at Heavyweight (91 kg) in the last fight of the night when Josip Bepo Filipi went 2-0 against Samir Maslouh in an entertaining match.
