Remarkable Russian Boxing Team go 15-0 at home after defeating Ukraine Otamans

Russian Boxing Team are one of the most successful Franchises in World Series of Boxing (WSB) history, and lived up to their reputation with a ferocious 5-0 win over Ukraine Otamans.

The Russian’s have won their last three matches with a 15-0 aggregate scoreline, and are looking in ominous form this season.

Russia’s former AIBA Youth World Championships bronze medallist Vasilii Vetkin opened his WSB Flyweight (52 kg) account with a split decision win over Kyrgyzstan’s 1-1 Azat Usenaliev.

Ukraine Otamans representative Usenaliev enjoyed control of the middle rounds, but Vetkin opened and closed the fight better.

3-0 Russian Lightweight (60 kg) Adlan Abdurashidov then enjoyed a decisive points win against Ukraine’s Pavlo Ishchenko.

The overall victory was secured for Russia in fight number three, when Welterweight (69 kg) Radzhab Butaev secured his third win in a row as he won every round in his fight with Oleg Zubenko.

Ukraine’s Light heavyweight (81 kg) Oleksandr Khyzhniak then fell to his first defeat of Season V as he lost a close split decision verdict to Pavel Silyagin.

A whitewash Russian victory was confirmed at Super heavyweight (91+kg) as Maxim Babanin went to 2-0 by beating Ukraine’s Ihor Shevadzutskyi on points.

Russian Boxing Team are at home for the fourth time in a row next week against Morocco Atlas Lions, while Ukraine Otamans host Cuba Domadores.
