Italia Thunder powerful in Porto Torres after 4-1 win over Caciques Venezuela

The rise of Italia Thunder in Season V of the World Series of Boxing continued with an excellent 4-1 win over Caciques Venezuela, who slip to their fourth defeat of the campaign.

Porto Torres was a superb venue for this Group B match, and the evening began with a Thunder win at Flyweight (52 kg) for India’s Gaurav Bidhuri who defeated Venezuela’s Orlando David Pino Silva on points.

Italian Lightweight (60 kg) Donato Cosenza then secured his opening win of the season by dominating every round against 0-2 Nestor Armas.

A Caciques comeback occurred in fight number three, when Welterweight (69 kg) Johan Jose Gonzalez Mendez won the battle of the debutants with a comfortable victory over Dario Morello.

The overall victory was assured for Italia Thunder at Light heavyweight (81 kg) as Valentino Manfredonia earned his third straight WSB win with a routine victory against Sebastian Argenis Espana Pinto.

Guido Vianello, Italy’s Super heavyweight (91+ kg) star also claimed a trio of wins in Season with a wide points decision verdict over Edgar Ramon Munoz Mata.

Italia Thunder will aim to make it five matches unbeaten next week away to Azerbaijan Baku Fires, while Caciques Venezuela are at home to Rafako Hussars Poland.
