Just hours away from the World Series of Boxing Group Draw and International Boxers Draft, worldseriesboxing.com reveals some key changes made to the Technical & Competition Rules for an even more appealing and exciting season III.

During the previous two seasons, WSB has been a city-based team competition.

Taking into consideration the launch of AIBA Professional Boxing (APB) next year and following suggestions of the majority of the Franchises, WSB Franchises will now be nation-based teams.

This change will benefit all Franchises to get more national media interest, maximize the potential for national sponsors, organise matches in different cities and increase the fan base on a national level.

On the competition side, WSB Technical and Competition Rules and Regulations have been amended. Main changes are as follows:

Boxers Squad

5 professional boxers will be allowed per franchise with no more than 15 current professional bouts. All boxers need to be approved by WSB;

A maximum of 40% of international boxers is allowed per franchise;

No minimum of international boxers in the squad;

No minimum of international boxer participating per match.

Bandages

Professional style bandages will be used (crepe and gauze).

Individual Championships

There will be no more Individual Championships although the Individual Ranking will remain;

These Individual Championships will be replaced by a WSB Olympic Qualifying Event in the year preceding each Olympic Games.

Now you know everything about this WSB season III. Stay tuned this week-end to follow the Group Draw and International Boxers Draft.
